The Passion. The Drama. The Love. The Hate. The Cake. The Rain. This is one of those days when normally banal domestic dramas can get blown up into major Love Sagas. Jupiter comes into the picture to form a T-square with Mars and Venus, promising everything that goes down today will go down in a Major Way. The Moon trining Venus, however, brings a delicious side to this energy, as all this melodrama is actually a manifestation of real love and feeling. This is one of those days when intensity and friction actually fuels a deeper love, and it is fun to feel the turmoil - so run with it. The Moon sextiling Neptune further envelops everything in a slightly trippy, psychedelic haze; you may not actually get what’s going on, but it makes an incredible backdrop for a seemingly never-ending, bi-polar operatic epic
For a special treat, below is a short docu on the back story behind the song:
And because there is so much Jupiter going down (which exaggerates everything), here is yet another Macarthur Park-themed video - yes and there are many, many more over at youtube. SCTV is this cool, cult comedy show from the early 80s that has influenced many of today’s top comedians. If you don’t know it, it’s worth checking out the dvds. The network made them have the laugh track; I don’t know if as a single sketch with no knowledge of other SCTV stuff it holds up, but have a go:
