More of today’s birthday twins at dlisted

One of the biggest questions I get as an astrologer is: Won’t all people born at the same time as me have my same chart? Shouldn’t we have identical lives, then? The answer is no, as even small changes in geography or minutes of time can shift the chart. The major differences are in the Ascendant and house positions, as well as the Moon. That’s why even real twins have different charts, due to the minutes that separate them.

Today we have two sets of birthday twins twins, ie two sets of famous people who were born on the same day, same year, even same country, and went onto success in the same fields. Albert Finney and Glenda Jackson, two of Britain’s most esteemed actors, were born in 1936. Moreover they were born approx. 50 km (33 miles) apart. Unfortunately we don’t know Finney’s birth time.

The other set of birthday twins both fronted some of the most popular bands of the 1980s. Both Paul Heaton, lead singer of the Housemartins and the Beautiful South, as well as David Gahan, lead vocalist of Depeche Mode, were born on this day in 1962. We do not have either birth times.

Let’s look first at Finney and Jackson. They were born on the same longitude and just 50 km (33 miles) apart. As stated, we don’t have Finney’s birth time. But let’s pretend for argument’s sake that he and Jackson were born at exactly the same time. Just the slight shift in birth location would change several important elements in the chart. Both the South and North Node would shift from the 6th-12th axis to the 1st -7th axis and the Sun would shift from the 11th to the 12th house. As you can see, similar charts, but not equal, as these would create major differences in personality and destiny.

Now let’s compare the lives of both Heaton and Gahan, two frontmen of major 80s pop bands. Both were born on the same day, but at opposite corners of the country. They both had behavioural troubles as youths: Heaton was expelled from school and Gahan ended up in juvenile court. They also both suffered addiction problems to drugs or alcohol. Moreover, they both had major career breakthroughs in 1986 when the Housemartin’s had the major hit Happy Hour, and Depeche Mode started to break big in the American market with the song Stripped. They both also went after solo careers in the early part of the naughties. So influences in lives can be the same, but we all have our own destinies. Also the underlying energy is the same, but the ways in which this energy can manifest itself are almost infinite.

This is why it is so important to get an accurate birth time when doing a chart. Without a birth time, a reading is still possible, but it is infinitely less personal and more general.

Above is the Housemartin’s video for Happy Hour (and yes that’s a very young Fatboy Slim) and below, Depeche Mode.
