McFadden & Whitehead: Ain’t No Stopping Us Now

We’re on the move! After a seemingly unending stint in Cancer, Mars finally moves into the more suitable sign of Leo. Mars has been hanging around Cancer on and off ever since October of last year. Mars normally only stays 2 months in a sign, but because of its retrograde motion this year, it had an extended transit through Cancer.

Mars’ aggressive energy isn’t very at home in chilled-out home-loving Cancer. It is much more suited to the extroverted, dynamic Leo vibe. From today, and until the early days of July, the world will shake off its winter stagnation and collectively move forward. Moreover, Jupiter goes retrograde in Capricorn, putting economic fears on the back burner for the summer. This fact, combined with the enthusiastic, optimistic Mars-in-Leo energy, indicates we can expect some carefree, good times, if even for the short term.

The Moon’s positive aspects to the Sun, Venus and Uranus today add to the overall celebratory vibe. It’s a good day for spontaneity and happy times with the people you love.

One little sad note though: while researching this posting, I found out that both Mcfadden and Whitehead have passed on. McFadden battled with Cancer, but more tragically, as well as uselessly, Whitehead was shot in a drive-by shooting in Philly. That is so incredibly sad.

While hunting animals or forming a militia to be ready in case of foreign attack isn’t really how I like to spend my free time, I don’t begrudge people that do. I just don’t understand why a system of controlled gun-selling and licensing meets so much resistance. I am a bit fed up with such a small segment of the population putting the rest of us in so much jeopardy.

Oh well, enough with the downer talk, just want to say God Bless Soul Train! The clothes, the music, the dancing, the lights, all form a perfect storm of pop cultural bliss. I swear someone could lock me in a room with the entire video archive of Soul Train for a month and I’d never be bored.
