In the Jackson Clan, LaToya somehow has often been the odd one out, suffering periods of estrangements with her family, and often acting out against them by divulging family secrets and making public accusations against her brother. During the years she was acting out - the late-80s to mid-90s - she was in an abusive relationship with someone who was doping her up and forcing her to say these things.
This erratic behaviour can be seen by the presence of an unaspected planet in her chart. She has Venus, the planet of love, unaspected in the sign of family, Cancer. An unaspected planet, a rare and unique occurrence, does not make any major aspect to any other planet in a chart. This creates a certain disconnect involving the energy and placement of the planet concerned. The energy of an unaspected planet can lay dormant until hit by a transitting planet (especially a slow-moving outer planet), leading to extreme and erratic behaviour. These transits often force a person to manifest and integrate this energy into their lives, which can be quite difficult, as this planetary energy has such a “foreign” feel due to its lack of use during long stretches of someone’s life. While this planet is being hit by a transit, it teaches the person, often through turbulent times, the importance of this planet’s manifestation in their lives. People with an unaspected planet often feel transits to these orbs more intensely than other people.
During the late 80s through mid-90s, LaToya was undergoing a series of transits hitting her unaspected Venus, triggering it with disastrous consequences. Her Venus was hit over a period of years by oppostions from Neptune, Uranus and Saturn leading to delusion, fuzzy thinking, erratic and rebellious behaviour, as well as placing herself under the control of an authority figure. An unaspected Venus in Cancer can cause a feeling of disconnect from the family unit and a feeling of lack of control in their love lives. They need to learn how to love and be part of a family group, as this energy does not come naturally.
At the end of the series of transits she was undergoing in the early 90s, LaToya left her husband and reunited with her tribe, learning the lessons of what it means to belong in a loving family.
LaToya, however, needs to beware as her unaspected Venus will be undergoing another opposition by the grand-daddy of all planetary transits, Pluto, in 2012. She should be very aware of all relationships she enters into at that time, and try not to allow any Svengali-figures or controllers into her world.
