A Blue Moon is when there are two Full Moons in any given sign in one month (there is usually only one). Blue Moons are relatively rare events, occurring once every few years, and rarer for that particular sign. Having two Full Moons in one month is incredibly intense and emotional. Full Moons in astrology normally represent endings or transformations that involve leaving something outdated behind, whether you want to or not. When there are two Full Moons in one month, the entire month gets loaded with a certain intensity that you just cannot escape. The entire month plays out the process of that Full Moon’s message according to the sector of the chart it is in.

Full Moons hit especially hard the sign it falls in and its opposite. This year’s Blue Moon fell in Scorpio and opposed Taurus. Scorpions out there had to deal with harsh realities relating to their ego and certain modes of identity manifestation that had to be left behind (Hillary Clinton, anyone?) while for the Tauri out there it hit their committed partnership sector.

The entire time from April 20th until May 20th of this year may have been particularly fierce and emotionally dramatic. Taureans tend to shy away from needless drama, but the two Full Moons could have forced them to do crazy things and play their hands. A lot of Taureans had to deal with harsh emotional issues during the past month and there were a fair share of betrayals and break-ups, including Taurus George Clooney’s.

His break up and moving out must have taken place around the time of the Blue Moon on May 20th. This Blue Moon opposed his natal Mercury and squared his Uranus. It’s as if something pushed him to come to his senses and smell the coffee of incompatibility.
