Mercury Direct in Gemini, Moon trine Saturn

After several weeks of increasingly confusing miscommunication and minor, yet frustrating, technical annoyances, Mercury goes direct in its ruler, Gemini. As Mercury has been retrograde in its ruling sign, foggy brain syndrome may have been even greater than usual, and misunderstandings in communication may have been almost impossible to avoid. Mercury retrograde periods are also irksome because they seem like a time when forward movement is just not possible, creating a 3-week period of suspended animation.

With Mercury’s direct motion, we can now start to look again to the future as opposed to the past. The Moon’s trine of Saturn adds to today’s optimistic energy, as emotions are lifted by belief that constructive change is possible.

This has to be one of the most feel-good songs ever written. The very early 70s actually seem like they must have been a really optimistic time for a split second before the cultural acid trip of the rest of the decade set in.
