Brian Wilson: Beach Boy
Sun: Gemini
Ascendant: Taurus
Moon: Virgo

Brian Wilson is considered an eccentric, experimental genius and perfectionist. These tendencies can be seen by Uranus conjunct his ascendant and his Moon in exacting Virgo.

Wilson had early career success with the Beach Boys, but yearned to do more experimental work. In the very late 60s, he started a long and dark decent into mental illness, depression and weight problems. Transits from the outer planets are always transformative, and in the late 60s and 70s, Wilson was undergoing stressful aspects from Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

Wilson has all of his planets grouped together in just a few signs in the south-west corner of his chart. These types of charts create intense lives, as the planetary energy gets grouped together and is not as diffused as charts where the planets are more spread out.

During the late 60s and early 70s, Uranus, and then Pluto, were making stressful aspects to his Sun and Jupiter while conjunct Neptune. Neptune is related to addiction, and it was during this time that he started heavily using drugs. At the same time transiting Neptune was making a stressful opposition to his Uranus and Saturn - plunging him from anxiety to depression. In 1983, a doctor started prescribing him an unconventional regime of anti-psychotic drugs, which led to tardive dyskinesia, a neurological condition that develops when the system is saturated with too many of these anti-psychotic drugs, which left him in a kind of zombie-like state. It is interesting to note that this treatment started when Neptune was opposing his Sun. Neptune has the ability to dissolve the ego, or sense of identity, and indeed this treatment erased his persona until it was diagnosed and he started a more traditional form of treatment.
