In memory of Laura Branigan’s B-day…
Gloria was actually originally an Italian song from the late 70s by Umberto Tozzi, it’s featured in the following clip from a 90s series called “Non è la Rai”. I used to live in Italy, and the tv shows are so surreal and creepily sexist. This show featured groups of scantily-clad 14 year old girls who would compete against each other in dance-offs, walk-offs, sing-offs, you name it. It’s really beloved in Italy, with no sense of irony, by men and women alike. I love how they have the 3 year old girl in the mix, never too young to start learning how to get your skank on. This clip is a challenge between the blondes and brunettes, a staple of Italian tv.
I will be taking tomorrow off as it is a holiday - the Moon enters Leo tomorrow bringing good times and fun for the long weekend. Enjoy and see you Monday!
