Last month, when Mars was transitting her Jupiter, Katherine Heigl, who annoys me to no end, ran her mouth off and took herself out of the Emmy race because she felt the writers had failed her and hadn’t written material ground-breaking enough for her advanced thespian skills.

Well if she wanted out of her contract, she may get her wish, as the buzz is that the people at Grey’s Anatomy want to kill her off during the course of next season. Heigl is currently undergoing her Saturn return, this is one of the most important astrological transits, occurring around age 29. This is the age when we are forced into the adult world and have to put away are childish things once and for all. For those who have been enjoying a free ride, things can get kind of rough as you have to finally put up or shut up.

Saturn returns can strip things bare in the sector of your chart that it is occurring in. We don’t have Heigl’s birth time, but using her solar chart, She has Saturn going through her career sector. When the career sector is involved, two things may happen 1) you may be an incredibly productive workhorse who makes great strides, but usually from having to isolate yourself from other aspects of your life or 2) you suffer losses and any free rides you may have had end abruptly and you are forced to take a more sobre and realistic view of your talents and abilities. Methinks and mehopes scenario two is more adapt for La Heigl.

The next year may see a fall from grace, and even a tumble into depression, when Saturn conjuncts her Moon and the North Node also in Virgo in the career sector. The time of reckoning may be at hand, when she may have to realise her limits as an acting professional. Saturn conjunct Moon times can also be times of emotional austerity, when you feel misunderstood and cut off from human warmth. I am sure not many writers will be clamoring to make her their muse.

Moreover, Saturn will be forming difficult aspects to her Sun, Mars, Neptune and Mercury, all in Sadge, which could lead to a kind of identity crisis and an increasing lack of confidence, which may manifest itself in a haughty or judgemental fashion. She is in one of those “when it rains, it pours” moments as she has so many planets in the mutable signs all getting hit by Saturn at the same time.

Her Mars/Neptune conjunction in Sadge gives her a loose tongue, and a tendency to not utilise proper judgement in actions and overly-frank talk. She may regret some of her words and see some payback in the upcoming year due to her impetuous nature.

From now until mid-2009 may be a time for growing up and learning that not everything comes easily. Most actors say they hone their skills from personal experience. If so, La Heigl may have some Emmy’s coming her way yet after surviving what the stars have in store over the next year.
