Starwatch: Tased and Confused : Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Wright, the Louisiana Police and the Saturn / Mars Conjunction
Cats: popwatch, starwatch|Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, two of the stars of the new Oliver Stone movie filming down in Louisiana, were arrested for disturbing the peace at a bar - big deal. Except it is so much uglier than that, apparently the closet klanners in the Shreveport police held Wright down and repeatedly tased and pepper-sprayed him while verbally abusing him and using the N word. When Brolin tried to make peace, they pepper-sprayed him, too. They say it was caught on a cell phone. I really hope this is just one of those internet rumours, cause it is just too sad.
This is so wrong in so many ways. Wright is such a cool guy, most remember him as Basquiat in the Schnabel film of the late 90s. The only kind of sweet justice is that he is famous, and while I am sure stuff like this goes on everyday to normal guys, maybe some change can come of this. Yeah, dream on. It also is awful for the people of Louisiana, as they are still recovering from the Hurricane Katrina and the film industry is doing so much to bring work down there and stuff like this could take needed funds away from the region.
Last week, we talked about the relatively rare and major astrological event of Mars conjunct Saturn in Virgo. This event happens only once every two years, and as it is relatively rare, its effects can be felt in the week leading to and following the event. Mars represents violence and Saturn authority. If you have planets around 6 degrees in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sadge or Pisces), you may have been the victim of bullying or abuse (or perhaps felt like overstepping your power bounderies yourself).
Wright had this Saturn/Mars conjunction hitting a lot of points in his chart, forming a loose Grand Cross with his natal Saturn, Moon, Mercury and Sun. Moreover, Wright is in the process of his Saturn Opposition, which is a major part of the Saturn cycle, and can bring its own pains with it.
Sing it, Mavis…
