Trainwreck of Trainwrecks! Cnn has just reported that McCain has confirmed that Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old high school-senior daughter is preggers. It’s kind of fun having women in politics, be it Hillary or Palin, they really do ratchet up the drama.

Palin is saying that Bristol will keep the child and marry the father – is this 1950? Poor girl, it makes me wonder how much choice she had in this matter. Keeping the baby is one thing, but a shot-gun marriage at that age really can mess up your life. Sometimes, I take so much for granted, but then I realise the great strides that have been in society since the 1960s, and it really makes me appreciate all those fights people made for civil and individual rights.

But all this makes one wonder, just how much did McCain vet this VP? It is already known he did not contact any of the people involved the Troopergate scandal, and having a 5 month pregnant daughter, when you are an evangelical Christian, is a bit of a difficult thing to hide. Or could Sarah be so ruthless that she knew and didn’t say?

Sarah’s Uranus/ Pluto conjunction is conjunct McCain’s Virgo stellium, including his Sun, Neptune, and Venus. Sarah can add a bit of shock and surprise that disrupts the harmony of his campaign (and life). The Pluto aspect also denotes that Sarah is indeed a game changer, as Pluto absolutely transforms all it touches. Sarah’s Uranus conjunct his Neptune does denote a certain shock, and that confusion, or even deception, is involved.

Sarah’s Mars/Sun/Saturn conjunction does give her an amazing drive and determination, combined with delusion, as it is squared by Neptune in Scorpio (see previous post). As mentioned earlier, Palin may not be a very introspective person, and the simplicity of her chart, combined with the above stellium aspect, may make her feel she is a bit invincible. Such a simple chart can belie a certain naivite, as one is not really likely to see shades of grey.

Meanwhile, John is undergoing his Saturn opposition affecting his house of public service. Saturn oppositions have their fair share of headaches. Saturn is also going over his stellium and squaring his Jupiter, again meaning that there can be serious consequences for impulsive moves. The square to Jupiter also brings religion into the mix, and this choice may not appease those evangelical voters as much as he had hoped.

The fact that Mars was conjunct his natal Mercury at the time of the VP “vetting” process, which seems like it too a week, makes me believe this was a pick made in a hurry and without going to deeply intellectually into it.

Interesting as well, is that Ceres in Leo is currently triggering McCain’s Uranus/Mars square. Ceres is the asteroid of pregnancy, and it will be conjunct McCain’s Uranus on September 10th. Uranus is all about shock and surprise, I’ll say….
