Palin’s Upcoming Jupiter Square and the Danger of Things Spiralling Out of Control

Cats: electionwatch|

On October 30th, Sarah Palin will be undergoing a Jupiter square. For a woman who doesn’t seem to know the word moderation, this could be a seriously testing time. Sarah is also undergoing Neptune conjunct her Sun, which could be leading to issues of self-esteem and identity. The Jupiter square may try to over-compensate for that by leading to a tendency of delusions of grandeur.

Jupiter blows up whatever it touches and Jupiter square natal Jupiter times can be ones where things spiral seriously out of control and tiny issues trigger atomic bombs. It all can become too much and overwhelming. These are also times when people overextend themselves and commit to things they cannot deliver on. The sense of invincibility only quickens the fall.

The weeks before and after October 30th are also critical because this transit remains in effect for several weeks on either side. Unforunately we do not have her birthtime, so I cannot say what areas of her chart this will hit. Jupiter however, rules legal issues, education and religion, and perhaps these issues will come back to haunt her.

Fireside Chat : The Economy IS Going to Hell

Cats: newswatch|

Being an astrologer, it allows you to know things long before other people catch on. For years now, while the world has been humming along merrily on credit and “growth”, astrologers have been harping on about how when Pluto entered Capricorn it would mark the end of the corporate era as we know it. Problem with astrology, though, it is teeming with hippies and worse, those poor souls who were born too late to be hippies and are forever bitter about it, and so there was also alot of talk among astrologers about how this era would be a great lovefest, because it would lead to the downfall of “the man”.

I, however, was born in the post hippie world, and unlike those hippies who got to do free love in their youth due to the social networks in place at the time and then later take full advantage of the market deregulation of the Reagan years to line their little pockets gold, my generation has never had it so easy. Even now, these hippie astrologers well into their 60s refuse to get off the stage and retire and aren’t the most welcoming or mentoring to the new astrologers on the block. But I digress (dont get me started on hippies!)…

Anyways, I have always looked at the Pluto in Capricorn with a certain trepidation, because if “the man” goes down, I am pretty sure that I will be going down before he does. The US economy does not do well in when Pluto transits a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). This can be due to the fact that the USA’s own Pluto is in Capricorn and Pluto squares and oppositions are some of the most painful around.

The period of Pluto in Aries saw financial crises in 1837 and 1847, the Pluto in Cancer years correspond to the Great Depression and Pluto in Libra was in the 1970s and that recession. So the Pluto in Cardinal Signs do correspond to the most painful times for the most part in the economic history of the USA, and there is no reason to doubt that it will not be the same with Pluto in Capricorn.

Pluto has been dancing in and out of Capricorn all year. It is presently on the Aries point, which is zero degrees of a Cardinal sign, in this case Capricorn. This is one of the most intense energy points in astrology. Pluto will finally move into Capricorn for good next month.

The fact that the Pluto return of the USA is on the cards, we can expect to see over the next 20-some years a painful transition to a completely new form of economy. Pluto is the planet of death and regeneration and most often involves quite a deal of pain, but what comes up after will be completely new and evolved. The USA may be forced to give up power, in order to transition to a new form of leadership and true control.

So that basically sucks for us, but does offer a lot of hope to future generations. I would predict that things will get worse, and unlike Suze Orman, who predicts the economy won’t fully rebound until 2015, I am going to take that to 2023, when Pluto next changes sign. These years will see a lot of economic failure and the need for a new, and more sensible approach, to material matters. We may also see changes to education, and the fact that an uneducated populace cannot really take care of itself in a free-market economy. There may be a more sensible approach when the government is forced to establish a new form of power in order to ensure the well-being of its citizens. Capricorn is the sign of the father figure. It may come as a welcome relief that the government take responsibility to provide a decent, fair society to its citizens. The era of low taxes and an economic free for all, may finally come to an end.

What about 2023? Pluto enters the sign of Aquarius, which rules democracy. I seriously believe that with the Pluto return of the USA during the upcoming years in Capricorn, we will come further to see that democracy without universal quality education is just a sham and impossible to govern itself, unless it is just another form of hidden dictatorship. The leaders refuse to invest in education, the people do not have the tools to make proper decisions, they vote in those leaders who deny them education based on non-issues, and so on and so on….

The poor quality of public (state) education and economic pain are most likely to be the two factors that really define the upcoming Pluto cycle.

PS The Pluto cycle we are leaving is Pluto in Sagittarius. Pluto rules religion and terrorism.

Sarah Palin Debate Prediction : A Ball of Confusion

Cats: electionwatch, popwatch|

Things are not looking up astrologically for Sarah Palin. Palin, who is currently undergoing a long-term Neptune conjunct Sun transit, will have this delicate configuration thrown even further out of whack by short term transits on the night of the debate.

Neptune is the planet of confusion, illusion, delusion, and when conjunct the Sun, self-delusion. It has a way of dissolving the ego and stripping one of their own identity. Her pick as VP candidate could not have come at a worse time for this normally fiesty and confident filly.

The night of the VP debate, there will be even more confusion as the Moon will be conjunct her Native Neptune and squaring her Sun/Mars/Saturn conjunction. It will be very difficult for her to project a commanding presence. The Moon adds a certain level of volatility. As it is squaring Saturn, she may be overly worried about staying on script, which may fluster her and she may end up making confused answers. There is also a high degree of delusion (or self-delusion) in this configuration, and she may refuse to admit she is going down, which may spiral to make things worse.

On the same day, she has Mars in the final degree of Libra squaring her natal Moon and Mercury. This is another extremely volatile energy, only this one may lead to brashness and being a maverick in the worse sense of the word. She may tend to overcompensate in a bluster of fury for things she does not know, which will not fool anyone, except due to the aforementioned Neptunian influence, herself.

Probably one the most serious aspects of the night is that the transitting North and South Node will be making an EXACT t-square with her natal Neptune. The Nodes on the Aquarius/Leo represent fate and karma and combined with Neptune in Scorpio, there will be the truthful honesty of Aquarius and Leo forcing things out into the light from hidden and murky Scorpio. There will be no more sweeping things under the rug.

What about Biden? The Moon will be conjunct his Sun / Venus / Mercury conjunction in Scorpio. This is a much more harmonious aspect than the squares Palin will be receiving. For Biden, this conjunction will allow him to emotionally connect with people, and he will have the ability to come off as a diplomatic, caring individual who intellectually and compassionately understands the needs of the people. Only problem is this Moon configuration is also opposite his natal Uranus, which could also lead to a certain unpredictability and freewheeling bravado that could backfire.

Things aren’t all rosey for Biden, however, as he has Neptune EXACTLY squaring his natal Mercury, which can lead to a mental confusion of his own. This long-term transit can go far to explain all the gaffes he has been making recently, and he may make more at the debate. Also both Mars and Mercury will be squaring his natal Jupiter, which could make him overly aggressive, so he would be best to tone it down.

All in all it should be interesting.

John McCain’s Bad Full Moon

Cats: electionwatch|

In a previous post, I said that John McCain had to watch out for September 15th, as the Full Moon conjunct Uranus aspected critical points in his birth chart that may see some type of upset or rift in store for him. I said maybe Sarah Palin may disappear from view for a while or he may have problems with staffers.

The Full Moon in McCain’s house of open enemies and business partnerships saw a backlash from the press yesterday, even the conservative press, as well as a deluge of misstatements by McCain and his top staffers. Yesterday and today have seen a load of foolish and harsh headlines, from the economy-is-not-in-bad-shape line, to his Senior Domestic Policy Advisor claiming that McCain, who openly admits that he does not know how to use email, invented the Blackberry. Also Carly Fiorina, who is one of McCain’s top advisors, stated that neither Palin nor McCain would be able to run a major corporation…leading to blasts that how could they run a global economy then?

McCain has recently started denying the press the open access he used to, especially in regards to Sarah Palin who has yet to talk with reporters assigned to cover her on her own plane (photo above). Could this be a backlash and flare up of enmity between the media and the campaign?

In a way I just want this election to end so I can go back to writing about Amy Winehouse, whose birthday was yesterday, ah those carefree days…..

The Economic Meltdown and the Full Moon

Cats: newswatch|

Monday saw the annual Full Moon in Pisces, with the Moon exactly conjunct Uranus and squaring Pluto while forming a loose opposition to Saturn.

Full Moons are about endings and Uranus is all about surprise, and Saturn represents the status quo and the fall of such an old established institution as Lehman Brothers is surely that. Over the course of the few months, when Pluto changes signs and there is also an exact opposition between Uranus and Saturn, we should be in for quite a ride.

There is a Season Change, Change, Change…..Election Predictions

Cats: electionwatch|

Next month we are undergoing one of the most profound astrological periods of the decade. This makes me extremely worried about this election, as the energies are really intense and thinking may not be clear. This is a period when history happens, whether we want it to or not.

First off, the date of the election is filled with extremely profound energy. On election day, we will be experiencing a rare exact opposition of Uranus and Saturn on the slightly nervous Pisces-Virgo axis. This opposition takes place only once approx every 30 years or so, and can mark times of coup d’etat, election upsets, riots and major societal shifts. We were undergoing this energy in the mid-60s, a time of the fight for civil rights and gender equality, and a loosening up of a repressed society. That time Uranus was in Virgo and Saturn was in Pisces, this time it is the opposite.

Uranus is about change and Saturn represents the status quo, and they are majorly at odds at this time. This energy is further complicated because it forms a Grand Cross with Pallas, the asteroid of Government in exact opposition with Venus in the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius also on election day. This is not pretty energy. In fact, things could get down right ugly. There is just such a wild card energy to this entire configuration, it is just difficult to predict how it will manifest itself.

Election day also sees Mars square Neptune, meaning people could make gut decisions that are just founded on illusion (or delusion). However, a series of positive sextiles, including one between Mercury and Pluto could cancel out this effect by giving a kind of intellectual resolve.

More troubling, is that Mercury moves into Scorpio on that day, the sign of secrets. Could there be some kind of fraud or coverup?

Also we are on the cusp of a whole new era as Pluto, the grandaddy of all transits, moves into Capricorn in late November. This is a huge shift. Pluto defines eras and tends to completely transform through a passage through hell the sector that it rules. For example, Sagittarius rules religious zealotry, and the Pluto in Sagittarius era brought fundamentalist terrorism to the fore. Previously we were in the Pluto in Scorpio era. Scorpio rules sex, and this was the era that AIDS appeared on the scene. Before that was the Pluto in Libra era. Libra rules aesthetics, and the 1970s were, well the 1970s….Before that was Pluto in Virgo. Virgo rules nutrition and the 60s were the era when the diet went to hell and processed foods took over. The 50s were the Pluto in Leo years. Leo is the sign of individuality and this was an extremely conformist era. Finally, lets look to the Pluto in Cancer era, the depression and war years. Cancer rules family love and compassion, and there wasn’t much of that going around.

So what does this mean for the future. Well, the economy. Capricorn rules the economy. Pluto entered Capricorn briefly earlier this year when the seriousness of the economic downturn really became evident. We can look to big business to be completely and fundamentally transformed over the next 15 years or so. It will not be an easy process, as Pluto brings out the ugly side of things. Pluto also rules education. More worrying is that the USA has Pluto in Capricorn itself and this period represents the nation’s first Pluto return. This will be a profound turning point in the country’s history and could represent a major period of reckoning as well, especially in terms of power and the limits and use (or loss) of power is concerned.

As for the election, I have no idea. It can go any way. Neither candidates have the best charts. Back in 2004, it was kind of easy to see Bush’s victory over Kerry, along with the troubles he would have after. Neither Obama nor McCain have such majorly obvious transits going on. Obamas chart is slightly advantaged because he has a number of planets approaching his mid-heaven, the point of career success. But the key word is approaching, but not quite there. Plus, Obama has some harsh aspects hitting planets in his 9th house on this day, so could there be legal isssues or challenges?

The inauguration day charts heavily favour Obama, so I will put my money there. I think this is going to be a really dividing and kind of crazy election and upcoming month in general. Even without the election there is a lot of major change to undergo and process, and to have this election before we feel this new energy is a bit disturbing to me, because we are voting based on the past, not the future which will start unveiling itself in late November.

Get ready for a ride….

Get Levi a GED Stat…

Cats: electionwatch|

The soon to be “dude-in-law” of Sarah “Sammy Jo” Palin and Bristol babby daddy is a high school drop out and has no plans of returning to school at the moment, according to his mother. At least he won’t need to worry about student loans and be able to give all his earnings to his family. Those college goers are so selfish!

Levi was flying to the Republican Convention today, but his mother said she was upset at how the press was prying into his life. Ummm, if you do not want the press to hound you, do not fly to the place where the entire US press corp is camped out….

It was nice to see that the McCain camp got him a new hairdo to replace the mullet. It is all personality, not issues that count and first impressions are so important….

I also learned that Levi is a very common name, kind of like John or Steve, in “fundie” towns, such as Wasilla. Out east, I would think a “fundie” town is some kind of trust fund baby haven. But it is slang for “fundamentalist”, ie evangelical Christian, town. Apparently, there are many of these out west. I am starting to think there really are two Americas.

I need his birth data! If anyone sees a birthday, please send it to me. Cheers!

Is Sarah Palin McCain’s Lady Di?

Cats: electionwatch|

A spunky young woman. The perfect trophy who would do what she was told while energising the base. Chosen for her commitment to virtue. Sarah Palin? or Lady Di?

It is interesting how the choice of a “little lady” type proved so disastrous to the royal family, and now history is repeating itself in the McCain campaign. Palin seems as much of a loose cannon as Di was, but more importantly she has totally pushed McCain into the shadows of his own election in much the same way that Diana did to Charles. In less than a week, this has become a Palin v Obama race. The crowds, the gossip sheets all have fallen for Palin, much like they did for Di.

Both Palin and Diana have Uranus’ that make harsh aspects to their “mates” Suns’. The Sun represents the ego, the personality force, and these harsh Uranus aspects have a tendency to overthrow all that. Uranus is definitely the planet of shock and surprise, a wild card, a loose cannon. The unexpected becomes the expected, and for the Sun person (Charles or McCain), it becomes difficult to control their image as it is always eclipsed by the sagas and dramas of the Uranus element (Diana and Palin).

It is ironic for McCain that he used that celebrity ad against Obama and is now living out the true reality tv celebrity of his VP pick. What goes around comes around, and he better get used to standing in the shadows.
